Search entries
A name, location, or other term entered in a search box is sent to the third-party provider that powers the tool. Kansas Released Inmates does not store or log those search terms on its own systems. The provider's privacy terms govern its handling of the query.
Messages
If you send an email or contact message, we retain the information needed to read and answer it. We do not share that correspondence outside the organization unless disclosure is required by law.
Technical Data Collected Automatically
Routine logs and analytics may record technical details when a page loads. Those details can include:
- the internet protocol address used for the visit;
- browser name and version;
- device category and operating system;
- pages viewed and time spent on them;
- the referring page, when available;
- and the date and time of the request.

Kansas Released Inmates links to county sites, sheriff and corrections pages, court portals, federal locators, and third-party search services. Once a visitor follows one of those links, the destination's privacy policy and data practices apply. Kansas open-records access through KASPER, KDOC GovQA, or another official portal is also governed by that agency's rules.
Advertising partners may use their own technology to recognize activity across websites and select ads. That tracking takes place on the partner's systems, not in a Kansas government record system controlled by this site.

We do not sell personal information. Limited data may be available to:
- search partners that process a submitted query;
- analytics vendors that measure site use;
- advertising networks that deliver or measure ads;
- and law enforcement or another government body acting under a valid legal order.

Reasonable administrative and technical practices are used to protect information under our control. No website, network, transmission, or storage system is fully secure. We cannot promise that a breach, interception, or unauthorized access will never occur.
Visitors Under Eighteen
The site is intended for adults and does not knowingly seek personal data from anyone under eighteen. If a minor has submitted information, contact us so a deletion request can be reviewed.

Subject to applicable law, a person may:
- ask for a copy of personal information we hold;
- request correction of inaccurate information;
- seek deletion of information tied to them;
- or object to certain processing where that right applies.
Requests can be sent through the Get in Touch page. These rights concern data controlled by this private site. Requests about a Kansas government record must go to the agency that created it under its own rules and the Kansas Open Records Act.
